Used car marketplace Cars24 has acquired automotive utility application Vehicle Info as it moves to build what it describes as a full-stack vehicle ownership platform.
The acquisition is part of the Gurugram-based company's broader strategy to expand beyond vehicle transactions and support users across the entire lifecycle of vehicle ownership.
The deal marks CARS24's third acquisition within a year. The company had earlier acquired vehicle information and management platform CarInfo and automotive community platform Team-BHP.
Founded in 2017 by Chirag Pipaliya, Vehicle Info offers a B2C and B2B platform that provides RTO vehicle information, challan payments, insurance status checks, service history records, resale value insights and driving licence exam preparation tools.
The platform was built to address everyday challenges faced by vehicle owners after a purchase, such as tracking insurance validity, monitoring traffic challans, checking FASTag balances and maintaining compliance with vehicle documentation.
Pipaliya developed the product from Surat after growing up in a village near Bhavnagar in Gujarat and studying in a government school. Without access to venture capital or a large startup ecosystem, the platform focused on solving practical problems for vehicle owners. Over time, the application gained traction as a recurring utility rather than a one-time use tool.
Following the acquisition, Vehicle Info will continue to operate as a standalone application with its existing team while collaborating with CARS24 to integrate its capabilities into the company's broader ecosystem.
Founded in 2015 by Vikram Chopra, CARS24 provides services including vehicle buying and selling, loans, insurance and servicing. The company also offers lending products through CARS24 Financial Services.
