'Kabhi mana nahi kiya': Employee shares chats with super chill manager, internet loves it

In a time when most office conversations feel formal and tightly controlled, a simple WhatsApp exchange between an employee and his manager is making people pause and smile.

A Mumbai-based UX designer recently shared screenshots of his chats with his manager on Reddit, describing him as a 'chill manager.'

The post quickly gained attention for its relaxed tone and unusual level of flexibility.

In one exchange, the employee informed his manager he would be late, writing, 'Aaj thoda late hoga, matlab 11:15. Late utha aur alarm band hogaya tha.'

The manager responded with a brief 'K.'

In another message, the employee asked for a half day, saying, 'Aaj main half day lun kya sir, after lunch. Wo thoda didi ko lene jana hai wo aa rahi.'

The manager replied simply, 'Ok,' followed by a heart emoji.

The employee later wrote that his manager had never refused requests for work-from-home or leave. 'Kabhi wfh ya chutti ke liye mana nahi kiya, & abhi company leave kerne wala hun so I wish aise Manager mujhe mile,' he said.

The post struck a chord with many users, who shared their own experiences and opinions on workplace culture.

'Bhai usse zyada tu dramatic hai ,' a user wrote.

'I can relate, my manager is also like this, and mai bhi aise hi request karta hu,' another wrote.

Some users highlighted performance over process. 'As long as you are getting the work done, managers shouldn't have any problem with you,' one person said, adding that some managers 'get their ego hurt' over small requests.

In response, the original user wrote, 'My manager really appreciates it when we meet deadlines and don't care what we do. That's why our team always outperforms the others each year!.'

Not everyone was convinced.

'Those didn't seem like chill unpissed 'Ok's tbh. You sound like a fresher, but don't use this tone at work. It sounds unprofessional,' another added.
