Digital healthcare platform Practo has named Srijesh Kumar as its Global Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), as the company prepares for its next phase of international growth and a planned public listing.
Kumar will oversee the company's product and technology teams end-to-end, driving the next phase of its platform evolution as it scales across global markets and continues to enhance patient and provider experiences.
The appointment comes at a time when Practo is increasing its investment in AI across its services, aiming to enhance care delivery and user experience. The company said it is working to build 'more intelligent, adaptive systems' across the healthcare journey.
'We're at an inflection point in how technology is shaping healthcare globally, with AI redefining how systems are built, scaled, and experienced,' said Shashank ND, Founder and CEO, Practo.
'Srijesh brings deep expertise in building platforms at global scale with a strong product mindset, and his experience will be invaluable as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI in healthcare,' he said.
'I'm excited to have him join an exceptional group of leaders at Practo who are collectively shaping the next phase of our growth and impact across markets, and I look forward to what we will build together from here,' Shashank added.
As CPTO, Srijesh will be responsible for aligning product and technology into a unified charter, strengthening platform architecture, accelerating product innovation, and building systems that can leverage Practo's deep healthcare data to deliver more consistent and measurable outcomes.
He will work closely with teams across engineering, product, and data to further embed intelligence into every layer of the platform from discovery and decision-making to care delivery and follow-ups.
'What drew me to Practo is the opportunity to work on problems that have a real, human impact at scale. Healthcare is one of the most meaningful areas where technology can make a life- changing difference, not just in improving access but in reducing suffering and enabling better health outcomes,' said Srijesh Kumar.
'At the same time, the opportunity to build from India for the world is deeply compelling for me. India today has the talent and capability to build platforms that can scale globally, and Practo has already demonstrated that. I'm looking forward to building on this foundation and contributing to the next phase of its global journey,' Kumar added.
He brings more than two decades of experience in building enterprise-scale platforms. Most recently, he served as a vice president at Salesforce, where he led product engineering for its industries cloud division. He has also held leadership roles at Expedia Group and Punchh, and earlier worked at Adobe and Microsoft.
The move comes as Practo reportedly seeks to raise between $100 million and $125 million in a pre-IPO funding round, expected to include both equity and debt. The round could value the company at around $700 million and involve participation from existing investors.
The Bengaluru-based firm is reportedly targeting a public listing in 2027, after earlier reports had suggested it was exploring an earlier market debut.
Founded in 2008 by Shashank ND, Abhinav Lal and Siddhartha Nihalani, Practo offers services such as doctor discovery, consultation booking, medicine delivery and diagnostic test scheduling. It also provides software tools for clinics and hospitals.
The company said it connects users with more than 700,000 healthcare providers and supports over 1,200 facilities globally through its hospital management system. It has raised nearly $230 million from investors including Tencent and Peak XV Partners.
