VerSe Innovation has appointed Prasanna Prasad as its Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), as the company steps up efforts to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across its platforms.
Prasad will oversee engineering, product and data science functions, with a mandate to accelerate AI-led innovation across VerSe's portfolio, which includes Dailyhunt and Josh.
He joins from Verve Group Inc., where he served as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Product and AI, leading a global team of more than 200 people and driving AI-focused platform development.
Prasad brings over two decades of experience in product engineering, data science and large-scale platform development. He has worked across the United States, India and Europe, with experience in product engineering, data science and platform development.
At VerSe, his role will centre on strengthening AI across content personalisation, creator ecosystems and digital advertising. The company said his mandate includes advancing AI capabilities across its platforms to improve content relevance, user engagement and monetisation.
The appointment comes as VerSe expands its AI-led product strategy across content, creators and advertising.
'AI is becoming central to how digital platforms are built, scaled and monetized,' said Umang Bedi. 'At VerSe, we see this as a structural shift that will define the next phase of growth across content, creators and advertising.'
He added that Prasad's experience in engineering, data science and AI-led platform transformation would help strengthen the company's technology foundations and drive 'more efficient, intelligent outcomes across the ecosystem'.
Prasad said the role of technology in scaling platforms was evolving. 'The focus then moves to how consistently systems can translate intelligence into real outcomes, whether in user experience, content relevance or monetization efficiency,' he said.
'At VerSe, the emphasis will be on driving greater precision and coherence across systems so that performance becomes more predictable and scalable over time.'
VerSe operates an AI-powered local-language platform with more than 350 million users across products including Dailyhunt and Josh, alongside AI tools such as NexVerse.ai.
The Bengaluru-based company has seen rapid financial growth, with operating revenue rising to Rs 1,930 crore in the 2025 financial year, up from Rs 1,029 crore the previous year, according to media reports. It expects to reach group-level profitability in the second half of FY26.
Backed by global investors including CPP Investments, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Qatar Investment Authority and Goldman Sachs, VerSe has raised more than $1.5 billion to date and was last valued at $5 billion.
