The Wedding Company raises Rs 25 crore in funding to expand wedding services platform

The Wedding Company raises Rs 25 crore in funding to expand wedding services platform

The Wedding Company, a Bengaluru-based wedding planning startup, has raised $2.75 million, about Rs 25 crore, in a seed funding round led by Wellingdon Advisors LLP.

The round also saw participation from LVX and Tremis Capital, along with Synergy Capital Partners, Vivek Mathur, Rahul Garg and Apurva Patel.

The startup's earlier $1 million pre-seed round included Wakefit co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, Ajith Pai and Arash Ferdowsi, among others.

It said the fresh capital will be used to strengthen its wedding services catalogue, build its category management function and expand its vendor partner network.

'This fundraise validates our approach of combining technology with strong on-ground execution to deliver a superior and premium wedding planning experience,' co-founder and CEO Pawan Gupta said.

Founded in 2023 by Pawan Gupta and Rahul Namdev, The Wedding Company operates a technology-enabled wedding planning and fulfilment platform. The platform offers services across venues, décor, catering, photography and logistics, bringing key parts of the wedding planning process under one roof.

The startup said it works with more than 30,000 wedding venues and over 2,000 verified vendors across India. It also claims to have planned and executed more than 1,000 weddings.

The Wedding Company is targeting India's largely fragmented wedding industry, which is estimated to be worth around $130 billion.

India's wedding market is among the largest in the world, with an estimated eight to 10 million couples marrying in the country each year.

The startup said its service order value rose from Rs 51 crore in FY25 to Rs 115 crore in FY26. It is targeting Rs 350 crore in service orders in FY27, with plans to execute about 1,500 weddings during the year.
