Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on Saturday on a day-long tour during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for infrastructure and industrial projects worth approximately ₹1.06 lakh crore.
The visit will cover key sectors including aviation, urban transport, energy, and semiconductors, officials said.
The Prime Minister will begin his engagements in Rajasthan at around 10:45 a.m. with the inauguration of the newly developed terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, along with the launch of a revised aviation scheme. Later, at around 12:00 p.m. in Balotra, he will dedicate, inaugurate, and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects and address a public gathering.
A major highlight of the Rajasthan visit will be the foundation stone laying for Jaipur Metro Phase-2. The ₹13,037-crore project will develop a 41-km North-South corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod, significantly expanding Jaipur's urban mobility network. The corridor will include 36 stations and is designed to connect key industrial, commercial, and residential zones, including Sitapura Industrial Area, Vishwakarma Industrial Area, Jaipur International Airport, Tonk Road, Jaipur Railway Station, and other major hubs.
Officials said the metro project will be implemented by the Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRCL), a joint venture between the Union and state governments. The expansion is expected to improve public transport connectivity across Jaipur and support the city's growing industrial and residential infrastructure needs.
Following his Rajasthan engagements, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Gujarat, where he is expected to arrive in Sanand, Ahmedabad, at around 4:30 p.m. There, he will inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility, marking the start of commercial operations at one of India's early semiconductor assembly and testing plants under the India Semiconductor Mission.
The ₹7,500-crore OSAT facility has been developed to provide end-to-end semiconductor assembly and testing services, including wafer sorting, packaging, testing, failure analysis, and logistics support. The project is among the first approved under the national semiconductor initiative, aimed at strengthening India's presence in the global electronics manufacturing supply chain. Officials said the Prime Minister will also address a public gathering following the inauguration in Gujarat.
