Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone for a series of health infrastructure projects worth more than ₹103 crore at Raipur Medical College , aimed at expanding healthcare services and strengthening medical education in the state.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said the government is working to make healthcare services more modern, accessible and better equipped to meet future needs. He noted that strengthening health infrastructure remains a priority as the state seeks to improve medical facilities and patient care.
According to the government, the proposed expansion is expected to enhance treatment capacity while also supporting medical education and research. The additional hostel and residential facilities are intended to improve accommodation for students, healthcare professionals and staff associated with the institution.
Sai said the investment represents not only an expansion of physical infrastructure but also an effort to improve the quality of healthcare services, promote medical research and strengthen public health institutions. He expressed confidence that improved facilities and trained medical professionals would contribute to better healthcare outcomes across the state.
The projects are expected to increase the capacity of Raipur Medical College to serve patients while supporting the training of future healthcare professionals. Officials said the new infrastructure will complement existing medical services and help meet growing demand for specialised treatment.
The foundation ceremony formed part of the state's ongoing efforts to expand healthcare infrastructure and improve access to medical services through investments in hospitals, educational institutions and public health facilities.
