Jashpur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today launched the 'Antariksh Sangwari' space traveller and astronaut training initiative at his camp office in Bagia, aimed at encouraging students in Jashpur to develop greater interest in science and the space sector.
Under the initiative, a district-level 'Space Travel and Astronaut Training Programme' is being organised for students studying in Classes 8 to 12. The programme is intended to provide students with exposure to the space sector and encourage them to explore educational and career possibilities related to space science.
The initiative comes at a time when space science and technology are gaining increasing importance across areas including research, communication, navigation and exploration. Introducing students to these subjects at the school level can provide an opportunity to develop scientific curiosity and encourage them to consider careers in science and technology.
The programme is supported by Indian Air Force Group Captain and astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla. His association with the initiative is intended to provide students with greater exposure to the field of space and astronaut training.
The state government has highlighted the programme as an effort to promote science education among school students in Jashpur. By focusing on students from Classes 8 to 12, the initiative seeks to engage young learners during a stage when they begin exploring specialised academic subjects and potential career paths.
The launch of 'Antariksh Sangwari' also reflects efforts to expand opportunities for students beyond conventional classroom learning. Activities connected with space travel and astronaut training can introduce students to scientific concepts while encouraging them to take greater interest in innovation and technology.
