Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a gathering at the Mansarovar Ramlila Ground in Gorakhpur on the occasion of the Bharatiya Janata Party's 47th Foundation Day, outlining the party's historical evolution, ideological foundations, and organizational growth.

During his address, the Chief Minister spoke about the origins of the party's ideological framework, tracing it back to the days of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He stated that the emphasis on prioritizing the nation and society has been a defining feature of party workers over the years. He also highlighted that the party's expansion into a large political organization has been shaped by the contributions and dedication of its members.

Referring to key figures in the party's history, he mentioned Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who played a leading role in establishing the Jana Sangh in 1951 and advocated for national unity. He also spoke about Deendayal Upadhyaya and his concept of 'Antyodaya,' which focuses on the welfare of the most marginalized sections of society. The Chief Minister noted that the Bharatiya Janata Party was formally established in 1980 under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He pointed out that the party's rise in national politics over the following years reflected growing public support.

He also referred to developments in recent years under the leadership of Narendra Modi, mentioning policy initiatives and governance measures that have shaped the current political landscape. The address also included references to key policy decisions and initiatives, such as the abrogation of Article 370 and welfare schemes related to housing, food security, healthcare, and employment. Additionally, he mentioned the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as a significant milestone. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of organizational unity and cautioned party workers about challenges such as misinformation and political opposition.

He encouraged them to remain engaged and focused on their roles within the organization. He also outlined upcoming programmes linked to April 14, the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar, including cleanliness drives and development work around memorial sites. Actor and MP Ravi Kishan also addressed the gathering, highlighting themes of national development and public welfare. During the event, senior party workers associated with earlier phases of the organization were felicitated for their contributions. The programme brought together party leaders and workers, serving as a platform to reflect on the party's historical trajectory and ongoing activities.
