Delhi resumes ration card issuance after 13 years

Delhi resumes ration card issuance after 13 years

Indiatimes 1 min ago
Ration card applications have resumed in Delhi after a gap of 13 years, with residents now able to apply online through the e-District Portal for access to public distribution and welfare benefits.
According to information shared by Rekha Gupta, applicants will need documents including Aadhaar cards, residence certificates, family income certificates, and details of family members to complete the application process online.

The Delhi government has also revised the annual income eligibility limit for applicants from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.20 lakh. Officials stated that families falling under the ₹2.5 lakh income category are also expected to be included under the system in the near future.

Ration cards are used for accessing subsidised food grains and welfare-related services under the public distribution system. Governments across states have increasingly shifted such services to digital platforms to simplify applications, improve transparency, and expand access to beneficiaries.
