Rumours are heating up that pop star Dua Lipa and her actor fiancé Callum Turner could be heading down the aisle as early as September in Palermo.
There's still no official confirmation, no date, and definitely no invite list, but that hasn't stopped the internet from playing detective. Between hush-hush planning, venue scouting across Italy and the UK, and their characteristically private approach, the pieces are starting to fall into place.
Palermo confirmed? Report says Dua Lipa and Callum Turner chose Sicily for their wedding
According to a major Italian newspaper, the speculation is over. Giornale di Sicilia, the island's most respected local daily, has reported that Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have officially selected Palermo as the location for their upcoming wedding. The report moves the conversation from pure gossip to something that looks very much like a done deal.
The wedding is expected to be a three-day affair running from September 5 to September 7, 2026. An entire floor of suites has reportedly been booked at Villa Igiea, the historic Art Nouveau hotel overlooking the Gulf of Palermo, to accommodate the international guests who will fly in for the occasion. The wedding planner, believed to be Alessandra Grillo, has already made multiple trips to the city to finalise arrangements.
The villa Igiea has reportedly been booked for a week. It's not the kind of venue that gets reserved for small occasions. Part of the Rocco Forte hotel group, the property has hosted royalty, dignitaries, and decades of high-end weddings. It offers a setting that combines Belle Époque grandeur with completely unobstructed views of the Sicilian coastline.
Who can attend the wedding?
If the reports from Giornale di Sicilia are accurate, the guest list reads like a lineup for a major music festival, bringing together music, fashion, and entertainment at the highest level. Expected attendees include Elton John, the legendary singer and longtime friend of Lipa; Donatella Versace, the iconic fashion designer and Versace creative director; Mark Ronson, the super producer who worked with Lipa on her Radical Optimism album; Charli XCX, the pop star whose own Sicilian wedding Lipa attended last year; British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean; and Blackpink superstars Jennie and Rosé.
Why did Dua Lopa and Callum Turner choose Palermo?
This speculation is not random. It does not stem from a fleeting visit or a single paparazzi photo. Dua Lipa's connection to Palermo is documented, public, and genuinely affectionate.
In the summer of 2025, Lipa spent several days in the Sicilian capital with her Turner, the British actor widely tipped to become the next James Bond. The couple did not hide out in a private villa. They immersed themselves in the city. They stayed at Villa Igiea, visited the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral, and the church of Santa Caterina. They wandered down Via Maqueda, ate cannoli, and drank aperitivi with a view of the sea.
When Lipa posted the photographs on Instagram, she captioned them simply: "Palermo in my heart."
A fairytale engagement straight out of a novel
While the location rumours swirl, the story of how Dua Lipa and Callum Turner got engaged feels like it was lifted from the pages of a romance novel. It is a tale that involves pasta, literature, and a very specific kind of serendipity.
The couple first sparked romance rumours in January 2024 when they were seen cosying up at the "Masters of the Air" premiere party. But the real magic, as Lipa later revealed, happened before that. She told British Vogue in June 2025 that they actually met at The River Cafe in London. However, the spark did not ignite until they crossed paths again months later at a restaurant in Los Angeles.

"We both just happened to be reading the same book," Lipa told the magazine. That moment of shared literary taste made the "Levitating" singer feel like they were "one thousand percent" meant to be together.
When Turner proposed, he did not just buy a ring off the shelf. According to Lipa, the actor consulted her best friends and her sister to design a bespoke piece. "I'm obsessed with it," she told British Vogue. "It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well."
Lipa described the engagement as a decision to "be best friends forever," adding, "This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever, it's a really special feeling."
