The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a large-scale training program aimed at strengthening scientific and technology-driven policing across the state.
A key aspect of this initiative is the cascading training model. Officers who complete the program will return to their respective districts and commissionerates, where they will train other police personnel. This approach is expected to create a wider network of trained officers capable of handling modern investigative challenges. The training modules cover a range of subjects, including crime scene management, cyber forensics, digital evidence preservation, and scientific investigation techniques. Personnel are being introduced to both traditional methods and modern tools such as cyber tracking and forensic analysis to improve the accuracy and efficiency of investigations.
Officials indicated that the initiative aims to ensure that evidence at crime scenes is properly handled and analyzed from the outset, reducing errors and improving case outcomes. Workshops and training sessions will be conducted at the district level, enabling officers from constables to inspectors to gain exposure to these techniques. According to institute representatives, the program is designed to build technical expertise within the police force and expand the use of forensic methods in routine investigations. Once completed, the trained experts will support efforts to standardize investigative practices across the state.
