A lecture that once drew little attention in 2024 is now exploding across time. As friction between the United States and Iran intensifies, resurfaced clips of Chinese-Canadian academic Jiang Xueqin are going viral for one striking reason: he appeared to predict both Donald Trump's political comeback and a potential confrontation with Tehran.

In May 2025, Chinese-Canadian Xueqin, while delivering a lecture which is now going viral, anticipated and laid out a trio of bold forecasts about the future of US geopolitics, and social media has seized on them as tensions grow.He also predicted that Donald Trump would make a political comeback and that a renewed US leadership could be drawn into military confrontation.
Warns of a long, costly conflict
With parts of Jiang Xueqin's 2024 lecture resurfacing and gaining traction online, one of his most striking claims has been about the duration and impact of a potential US-Iran war. Jiang suggested that if the United States became embroiled in a military confrontation with Iran, it might not end quickly or cleanly, unlike short, decisive campaigns of the past.Drawing on historical analogies, he compared a possible invasion to ancient military blunders, warning that Iran's geography, local resistance, and strategic depth could bog down even a powerful army and turn the conflict into a protracted ordeal.
