Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a newly constructed milk chilling center in Azamgarh, marking an expansion of a dairy initiative linked to a Gorakhpur-based milk producer company.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister referred to changing perceptions about Azamgarh, noting that the district has seen a shift in how it is viewed socially and economically. He also used the occasion to raise political points, questioning the development track record of previous governments and contrasting it with current initiatives.
The dairy project, according to officials, involves the participation of tens of thousands of women, with a daily milk collection that has reached significant volumes. The model includes procurement, quality testing, and processing, aimed at ensuring fair pricing and minimizing adulteration. The Chief Minister emphasized that increased participation of women in such initiatives contributes to household income and local economic stability.
He also outlined improvements in regional connectivity, citing the impact of the Purvanchal Expressway in reducing travel time between Azamgarh and Lucknow. Enhanced road links to nearby cities were also mentioned as part of broader infrastructure development.
In addition to dairy sector growth, the Chief Minister highlighted ongoing and planned urban development projects, including a housing initiative under a state scheme that aims to create residential plots and provide access to basic urban facilities. He also referred to the development of an airport in Azamgarh and expansion of road networks.
The speech included references to national-level developments such as the construction of the Ram Temple Ayodhya and policy decisions like the abrogation of Article 370. He also mentioned welfare schemes related to housing, healthcare, and rural livelihoods.
On the agricultural front, measures related to cattle welfare, including shelters and financial assistance schemes, were discussed. The government's push for alternative energy sources such as biogas and rooftop solar systems was also highlighted, with claims of reduced household energy costs.
The event concluded with recognition of beneficiaries associated with the dairy initiative, including several women participants. Local representatives and officials were present, alongside members of the milk producer organization.
