DODA: An awareness programme on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and drug abuse prevention was organized today at Government High School Bun, Doda.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Chairman District Legal Services Authority Bhaderwah, DLSA Secretary and the Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Doda.

LADC Advocate Tahir Hussain Dar, who served as the resource person, sensitized the students and participants to the harmful effects of drug abuse and the legal provisions under the NDPS Act. He elaborated on the serious social and health consequences associated with substance addiction and highlighted the strict legal framework aimed at curbing drug-related offences. Emphasis was laid on the importance of awareness, early prevention and active community participation in addressing the growing menace of drug abuse, particularly among the youth.

The speaker encouraged students to stay informed, make responsible choices and act as ambassadors of a drug-free society.
