JAMMU: Carmel Convent School, in collaboration with Federation of Indian Blood Donor Organisations and FICCI FLO Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, on Thursday organised a Blood Donation Camp on the school premises on the eve of World Red Cross Day.
The initiative aimed at promoting humanitarian service, community welfare and awareness regarding voluntary blood donation.
The camp was attended by Sher Singh as the chief guest. He appreciated the institution and collaborating organisations for encouraging awareness about blood donation and promoting collective social responsibility.
Preeti Sharma also attended the event as a special invitee.
FICCI FLO JKL was represented by Aarti Chowdhary and Varuna Anand.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and parents, many of whom donated blood as part of the humanitarian initiative.
Officials said the participation also served as a valuable lesson for students by reinforcing the importance of compassion, empathy and civic responsibility.
Maria Suzette said blood donation is among the most meaningful acts of service towards humanity.
"Through this initiative, we hope to inspire our students to grow into socially responsible individuals who understand the value of helping others," she said.
Vikrant Dogra represented FIBDO during the programme.
The camp was conducted following all required medical and safety protocols under the message "Give Blood, Save Life".
Organisers said the initiative reaffirmed the commitment of the participating organisations towards building a healthier and more compassionate society.
