NEW DELHI: Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders with effect from June 1, raising the cost of 19-kg commercial cylinders and 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders across key markets, while leaving domestic LPG cylinder prices unchanged.
According to the revised rates, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been increased by Rs 42, taking the retail selling price to Rs 3,113.50.
In Kolkata, the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has risen by Rs 53.50 after accounting for local taxes, bringing the new price to Rs 3,255.50.
The price of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders has also been revised upward by Rs 11. Following the increase, a 5-kg FTL cylinder will cost Rs 821.50 in Delhi.
The revised rates came into effect from June 1 and are expected to impact commercial establishments such as restaurants, hotels, eateries and small businesses that rely on commercial LPG cylinders for daily operations.
However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, providing relief to household consumers. Domestic cooking gas rates remain unchanged despite the latest revision in commercial LPG prices.
The increase in commercial LPG rates comes amid periodic price reviews undertaken by oil marketing companies based on international energy prices, exchange rate movements and other market factors.
