DC Reasi reviews functioning of District Telecom Committee

REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek chaired a meeting to review the functioning and progress of the District Telecom Committee in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed telecom connectivity, installation of mobile towers, network coverage in rural and remote areas and issues related to strengthening communication infrastructure across the district. Officers from the concerned departments and representatives of telecom service providers briefed the chair on the status of ongoing projects and the challenges faced in ensuring seamless telecom services.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of land allotment for installation of mobile towers and directed the Tehsildars to identify suitable state land within their respective jurisdictions for the purpose. He stressed the need for timely resolution of pending issues to facilitate the early commencement of telecom infrastructure projects.

He directed telecom companies to obtain necessary permissions from the concerned departments before undertaking any digging work. He instructed officers to identify shadow areas and take appropriate measures to strengthen network coverage in such locations.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments and telecom operators to work in close coordination to ensure timely execution of projects and expansion of telecom facilities in uncovered and underserved areas of the district.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Nitin Verma, Assistant Commissioner Development Mukesh Sharma, Divisional Forest Officer, Tehsildars and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
