Ist National Lok Adalat 2026 held at Kulgam

KULGAM: Under the agies of NALSA and in pursuance to the direction of J& K Legal Services Authority, Ist National Lok Adalat was held today in District Kulgam, under the chairmanship of Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Principal District and Sessions Judge /Chairman District Legal Services Authority) Kulgam.

The National Lok Adalat was formally inaugurated by Chairman District Legal Services Authority in presence of Additional District & Sessions Judge Kulgam, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam/Sub Judge Kulgam, Munsiff/JMIC Kulgam, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Kulgam and Bar members of Kulgam.

Seven benches were constituted including Four at Head quarter, one at Tehsil Office Kukgam and one each at D.H.Pora and Qazigund each headed by one Judicial Officer.

Ist Bench was presided over by Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Principal District & Sessions Judge Kulgam and was assisted by Roshana Aara, Chief LADC Kulgam.

2nd bench was presided over by Altaf Hussain Khan, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam and was assisted by Umar Nazir, Deputy LADC Kulgam.

3rd bench was presided over by Akash Deep Singh, Munsiff /JMIC, Kulgam and was assisted by Dar Zubair Altaf, Asst. LADC Kulgam.

4th Bench was presided over by Sheeraz Akhter Malik, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Kulgam and was assisted by Basit Farooq, Asst. LADC Kulgam.

5th bench was constituted at Tehsil Office Kulgam was presided over by Bashir ul Hassan, SDM Noorabad and was assisted by Nasir Ahmad, Tehsildar Kulgam.

6th bench was constituted at Munsiff Court D.H. Pora and was presided over by Nissar Ul Haq Khan, Munsiff /JMIC, D.H Pora and was assisted by Farooq Ahmad Khanday, Advocate and 7th bench was constituted at Munsiff Court Qazigund and was presided over by Aastik Verma, Munsiff/JMIC, Qazigund and was assisted by Amir Hameed Wani, Panel Lawyer TLSC D. H. Pora.

In the Lok Adalat a total number of 807 cases related to MACT Cases, Family Disputes, Revenue cases, Traffic Challans, Bank Cases, Electricity cases, and Water bills were taken up and out of which 634 cases were amicably settled.

Meanwhile, an amount of Rs 86,36,250 was awarded in different cases.
