JAMMU: Sainik School Nagrota celebrated its Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026-27 with pride and dignity, marking the occasion with recognition of academic excellence and student leadership.

The event began on an emotional and proud note with the felicitation of parents of eight cadets who have qualified for the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) 154 Course. Parents of cadets Ikhlaq Hassan, Hussain, Pranav Sharma, Aditya Kumar Singh, Prithvi Raj Sambyal, Divyansh Bhardwaj, Piyush Sharma, and Yasir Mukhtar Wani were honoured for their sons' achievement.

An incentive amount exceeding ₹12 lakh, received from the Ministry of Defence, was handed over to the parents as a mark of appreciation. The selected cadets represent diverse regions of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, reflecting the institution's inclusive reach and contribution to nation-building through the Armed Forces.

The ceremony also featured the formal pipping of 15 newly appointed cadet leaders for the academic session. Key appointments included School Captain Raghav Chib, School Adjutant Uday Kumar, Sports Captain Adarsh Kumar Tiwari, Cultural Captain Ishan Parihar, and Band Captain Utkarsh Vivek.

The newly appointed leaders took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the values and traditions of the institution. The event was attended by parents, staff, and cadets, adding to the significance of the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Shibu Devasia congratulated the parents of the NDA qualifiers and appreciated their role in shaping the cadets' discipline and determination. He also urged the newly appointed leaders to uphold integrity and develop officer-like qualities through their responsibilities.

The ceremony concluded with a high tea interaction, celebrating achievement, leadership, and the continued legacy of the institution in preparing young leaders from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to serve the nation.
