Bollywood in Politics: Payal Ghosh joined Ramdas Athawale's RPI party
Film actress Payal Ghosh joined the Republican Party of India-A (RPI), the party of Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Monday. She joined the presence of a Union Minister in Mumbai. Payal has been made the president of the women's wing of the party. There has been talking of Payal joining Athawale's party for the last several days. Payal hoisted the RPI flag on an incident that put all speculation to a halt.
Payal recently accused film director Anurag Kashyap of rape under the Me Too campaign. He also registered a case at the Oshiwara police station. However, her allegation was denied by Anurag Kashyap. Apart from this, Payal Ghosh had also named Irfan Khan cricketer in this case, although no concrete thing has been revealed about this matter so far. At that time, Union Minister of Social Justice and RPI chief Ramdas Athawale had supported Payal Ghosh and met him.
Ramdas Athawale said, "I thank and welcome her for joining the party." Joining that party will strengthen the party. I told him that RPI (A) is Babasaheb Ambedkar's party. Our party helps people from all walks of life. On joining the party you will get a good face. After discussing with me she was ready to join the party.
Along with Payal Ghosh, Ramdas Athawale met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, and there too Payal demanded her safety and justice.
