The Odisha government has announced plans to introduce technology-enabled classrooms in more than across the state as part of its push to improve learning outcomes and teacher reach.
According to official sources, the initiative will cover , which will be connected to along with . These studios will broadcast curriculum-based lessons to classrooms in both , allowing students in remote areas to access uniform teaching content.
The project will be implemented through the , which has issued a to select agencies for setting up the digital classroom network, assessment systems and connectivity infrastructure. Schools without fibre connectivity will be linked through alternative digital networks to ensure statewide coverage.
Officials said the initiative is expected to strengthen subject delivery, support exam preparation and reduce learning gaps between urban and rural schools. The programme also aligns with the state's broader education reforms under the , which emphasise digital access and teacher support.
