Governor's post is not a 'post of authority' to insult govt, criticises Kodiyeri

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan came down heavily on Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. The governor's post is not a 'post of authority' to insult the government. The present Governor is forgetting this. The state governor is making inappropriate comments and is intervening unnecessarily to please the central government, alleged Kodiyeri.

'The Governor's post is not a 'post of authority' to insult the assembly and the state government elected by the public. The existing Governor is forgetting this. The tendency to suppress all constitutional institutions to Hindutva has become dangerous,' criticised Kodiyeri in an article carried by the party mouthpiece.

Kerala is leading the fight to defend the constitution and secularism. The state assembly passed a resolution calling for the repeal of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Kerala is the first state to challenge the contentious CAA in the Supreme Court. Kodiyeri said all these are constitutional measures.
