NASHIK: Uproar and protest even took to the streets over the shocking details of the IT firm in Nashik that surfaced a day back. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) suspended several employees over allegations of sexual assault and forced conversions.

Nashik Police arrested six employees, including senior leaders and a woman Human Resources staff.

The details came to light after a staff member of the firm approached Deolali Camp Police Station, alleging that three employees, including a woman in the firm, hurt her religious sentiments. As per reports on national media, the woman also complained that a male member groomed her in a bid to sexually exploit her. She alleged being subjected to sexual assault on multiple occasions.

In the preliminary investigation, the police found out the cabal working inside the firm and understood that more women had been victims of the trap. A police official requested that more women come forward with complaints if they had any allegations.

As of April 3, eight women of the firm came forward with complaints of sexual assault, hurting religious sentiments and grooming. Many women said that the complaints were registered with the firm's human resource department, but no action followed.

Maharashtra minister Girish Mhajan, while responding to the case, said that the women were forced to consume beef and offer namaz by the gang. Despite the complaints, the senior women officials failed to act and even abetted the crime.

Police doubt this to be a larger network, not just restricted to one firm, but a cabal that is heinously working across the corporate world, luring women by promising lucrative jobs.

Employees, including Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, Shah Rukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Tausif Attar, Danish Sheikh, and a woman, were arrested by police in the incident.

TCS suspended all the accused employees pending an enquiry. The firm said it will cooperate with the local law enforcement authorities and said that further action will follow after the final investigation.

The details and the arrest shocked the nation, while many organisations carried out protests against the firm for not coming to the aid of the victims despite them informing the shady details of torture.
