Director Priyadarshan revealed the reason behind his separation from actress Lissy ten years ago. Priyadarshan said that he decided to separate when boredom and ego set in in his married life.
In an interview with Filmfare, the veteran director talked for the first time about the reason why he decided to reunite with Lissy.
"After thirty-two years of marriage, a kind of boredom and ego came between us. It was a bit tough. So we decided it was better to part ways. After a few years, we felt like we were missing each other. So we got back together. That's it. We are not bound by the institution of marriage. We will live our individual lives," said Priyadarshan.
Lissy was a mainstay in Priyadarshan's films of the early 90s. After a brief year of dating, the two married in 1990. Priyadarshan recently revealed that he and Lissy are living together again after a ten-year separation. Priyadarshan's revelation was made in an interview with the Mid-Day newspaper.
Rumours of Priyadarshan and Lissy patching up started circulating ever since they arrived together for the wedding of director Sibi Malayil's son in January this year.
