Man arrested for strangling wife to death

POTHENCODE: A 26-year-old man was arrested by the Pothencode police for strangling his wife to death after forcefully giving her liquor. The deceased has been identified as Rakenthu, wife of Adarsh who hails from Vamanapuram.

According to the police, the murder was committed after the couple got involved in a heated argument over Adarsh's drinking habit. Following the argument, Adarsh forced Rakenthu to drink the liquor and later strangled her before hanging her up on a ceiling fan to create an impression of a suicide. After several hours, he took Rakenthu to the hospital in order to misguide others.

Though the police initially took it to be a suicide, Rakenthu's autopsy reports showed various bruises and injuries on her body. Following this, Adarsh was questioned for several hours after which he confessed his crime.
