Police get hold of food delivery boy who stole more than 30 mobiles

KOCHI: After several desperate attempts, the Ernakulam North police finally managed to arrest the food delivery boy who stole more than 30 mobile phones. The accused, Ankul, was arrested by the police after getting details about the scooter using which the crimes were committed.

The action was taken following a complaint lodged by Stephen, a hotel employee near the Lissy metro station. According to Stephen, Ankul stole his mobile after borrowing it to make a call and immediately fled the scene on a scooter. Following this police collected details about the scooter and found that it belonged to a girl. On questioning, the girl revealed that it was Ankul, her friend, who used to take her scooter as he works as a food delivery boy. The police then asked her to call him and arrange a meeting at Kacherippadi. Ankul was subsequently caught and taken into custody.

On further questioning, it was revealed that Ankul used to enter men's hostel at nights and steal mobile phones. Several phones have been seized from the hostel that he was staying at. The accused has been presented before the court and is currently remanded. He will be soon taken into police custody for further questioning.
