India Open 2025: PV Sindhu, Satwik-Chirag Advance To Second Round

The India Open 2025 saw the comeback of former champ PV Sindhu on the competitive circuit as she dispatched Sung Shuo Yun of Chinese Taipei in straight games.

Sindhu, participating after her marriage here for the first time, got off the blocks a bit slow but built up the pace where it mattered to clinch the issue 21-14, 22-20. The win helped Sindhu get a good start to the India Open 2025, which is a BWF world tour Super 750 tournament.

Other Indian badminton players also had a good day; Kiran George, Men's Doubles Satwik-Chirag, and Mixed Doubles Dhruv-Kapila-Tanisha Crasto moved to the second round.

Kiran George pulled off a nail-biting three-game victory against Japan's Yushi Tanaka, while Satwik-Chirag and Dhruv-Tanisha emerged winners from competitive exchanges. At the India Open 2025, the Indian badminton players aspiring to maintain the same winning streak.

Indian badminton players were a mix bag of fortunes in the just concluded India Open 2025 as Satwik-Chirag and Dhruv-Tanisha entered into the next round of the doubles category. Despite being on the brink in the second game, Satwik-Chirag won a thrilling first-round men's doubles match, 23-21, 19-21, 21-16, against Wei Chong Man and Kai Wun Tee of Malaysia. The pair emerged victorious in their first match, setting the pace for the other Indian badminton players during the India Open 2025.

In the mixed doubles event, Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto gave away the first game but came back strongly to beat Hsu Yin-Hui and Chen Cheng Kuan of Chinese Taipei 8-21, 21-19, 21-17.

But the fifth-seeded women's doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand were beaten 21-23, 19-21, by Japanese duo Arisa Igarashi Ayako Sakuramoto in the first round. However the results are average, Indian badminton players would hope to carry forward the winning legacy at the India Open 2025.
