Kerala Blasters FC is a professional football club that plays in the Indian Super League (ISL), which is a top-tier league in the Indian football ecosystem.

Right from the inaugural season of the ISL, the Kerala Blasters have been the fan favorites. Kerala people are mad about football, the reason that attracted the fan following from all across the country is that the great Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar was one of the co-owners. This club from Kerala is the 3-time runner-up of the Indian Super League.

On May 27, 2014, the name 'Kerala Blasters' was publicly announced by the management. Sachin Tendulkar and Prasad Polturi won the rights to the Kochi franchise, which they named 'Kerala Blasters'.

Elephant is the official state animal of State Kerala, and hence Kerala Blasters created a logo with the face of the elephant holding a football with its trunk. Even the logo of the Kerala Blasters has a blue background and an elephant inscribed in yellow. This also indicates blue is the secondary color of Kerala Blasters.

Over the years, depending on occasion, the club has changed the jersey color combination, but yellow and blue are what the Kerala Blasters are known for. As discussed earlier, Kerala people are mad about football, which is often visible when fans show their passion for supporting the Tuskers, which is a nickname for the Kerala Blasters. These supporters are known as Manjappada, which translates to the Yellow Army.

Not only in stadiums, but the supporters also support their team on various social media handles with the same zeal. The official Instagram page of the Kerala Blasters reached 2 million following the milestone, and they became the first Indian football club to achieve this great number. This Instagram account of The Tuskers is the 6th highest among all the football clubs across the globe when it comes to fan interaction on digital platforms. Manjappada has won 'The Best Fan Club' award. They achieved this feat first in 2017 and later in 2020.

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi is the home ground of the Kerala Blasters. The atmosphere in this arena is pretty similar to what players face when they visit Signal Iduna Park in Borussia Dortmund. Though the capacity is just 68,000, those 68,000 make the opposition feel as if 1 lakh people are there to support their beloved team. The stadium was one of the six stadiums that hosted matches for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was held in 2017.

The two South Indian teams, Chennai FC and Bengaluru FC, have had a pretty tense rivalry with the Kerala Blasters. The atmosphere when the Tuskers play against these two becomes quite hostile as supporters from both clubs give everything that they have and act as 12th men for their respective teams. The states of West Bengal and Kerala have had a history of rivalry even before the start of the ISL. These two teams have always had heated moments in the Santosh Trophy and other domestic tournaments.
