Sachin Tendulkar’s outstanding international career consisted of 664 matches, which firmly established him as one of cricket’s most prominent athletes. Tendulkar will be the Lifetime Achievement Award’s 31st recipient, which was set up in 1994 to commemorate CK Nayudu, the first captain of India. Tendulkar retired from international cricket after playing for more than two decades, having debuted as a 16-year-old in a Test against Pakistan in 1989.
Tendulkar’s record of 200 Test appearances and 463 ODI matches is matched by no other player, and his runs tally in both formats is also a record: 15,921 in Tests and 18,426 in ODIs. He also participated in one T20I, India’s inaugural, against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2006.
Indian cricketer R Ashwin, who retired from international cricket in December 2024 as India’s second-highest Test wicket-taker, will be receiving a special award. Ashwin made his Test debut in 2011 and played a lead role in India’s 12-year-long domination in the longest format at home, winning 18 series on the trot.
Among men, Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan was chosen for the Best International Debut Award for his blazing fifty against England in the Rajkot Test in February 2024.
