It asked the AIFF to call a special general body meeting within four weeks to adopt the Constitution with the tweaks suggested by the bench.The order also allows the current Executive Committee, led by Kalyan Chaubey, to complete its tenure until September 2026.

The AIFF need to organize the special general body meeting within four weeks, at which the modified Constitution will be legally approved. After adoption, the document goes into effect at the state bodies. The present Executive Committee will have the authority to manage the AIFF affairs up to the time of their mandate. The election of the new council will be awaited by the members of the Indian football fraternity after which the stakeholders will see how soon the state associations comply with the changes.
The AIFF Board’s recent decisions are intended to align the organization with the National Sports Code and the global standards. If successfully passed, the measure could bring a stable governance structure to the Union. Moreover, this will release new streams of funding and strengthen India’s football credentials at the international level.
