Yashasvi Jaiswal is a rising star. As early as 22, the young opener proudly flaunts three centuries across continents, with 161 being his barest triple-digit score.
Valid concerns, perhaps, when Jaiswal fell for a duck in just eight balls in the first Test against Australia. But he silenced them all with a roaring 161 in the next innings, sharing a significant partnership with KL Rahul, whose strength proved crucial in driving India to an impressive victory by 295 runs. The brilliant show put on by Jaiswal has also managed to win over many former skeptics, including Glenn Maxwell, who had the audacity to say that he could even end up scoring 40 Test hundreds in his career.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Could Be India's Next Test Legend: Glenn Maxwell

If it comes true, Jaiswal would leave behind legends like Virat Kohli, Sunil Gavaskar, and Rahul Dravid, with only the legendary Sachin Tendulkar a little ahead of him. That’s a long way to go, and Jaiswal has already covered about 10 percent of the distance. It’s hard to doubt him at this point.
Glenn Maxwell said on The Grade Cricketer podcast: "He's ( Yashasvi Jaiswal) a guy that will probably get more than 40 Test hundreds and write some different records. He's got a great ability to adapt to different conditions."
Glenn Maxwell also complimented Jaiswal’s technique, stating he had no recognizable weaknesses. It would be expected of an Indian batter to cope well with spin, but Jaiswal’s poise in Perth’s fast, bouncy conditions was exceptional. And should raise eyebrows with Pat Cummins and his cohorts.
"It's going to be scary if Australia can't find a way to stop him over the next few games. He played a lot of shots that will be on highlight packages. But the stuff he did in between the balls he left. The balls he got in behind… His footwork is pretty crisp. He doesn't seem to have many weaknesses. Plays the short ball well, drives well, plays spin unbelievably well, and can absorb pressure for periods of time," Glenn Maxwell further added.
