San Francisco police have arrested two individuals following a shooting incident early Sunday morning near the Russian Hill residence of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman . The suspects, identified as Amanda Tom (25) and Muhamad Tarik Hussein (23) , were taken into custody without incident after shots were reported in the area at approximately 2:56 AM on April 12.
According to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), the investigation into a 'suspicious occurrence' led officers to a vehicle that had driven past the residence around the time of the gunfire. The vehicle was traced to Tom, a San Francisco resident. Following a search of a residence on Taylor Street, investigators seized three firearms and developed probable cause to book both Tom and Hussein for negligent discharge.
The incident marks the second high-profile security breach at Altman's property in less than a week. Only two days prior, 20-year-old Daniel Alejandro Moreno-Gama was arrested for allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at the same home.
While specific motives for Tom and Hussein's actions have not yet been disclosed, Chief Derrick Lew emphasized that the department is taking the gun-related crimes 'extremely seriously.' Both suspects are currently held at the San Francisco County Jail as the investigation remains active.
