All Unicorns & Rainbows With Vrishika Arora

29 Apr 2021.9:21 PM

Vrishika Arora holds an MBA degree and has a successful career as an SEM Analyst.

But, who can reject their calling? She wanted to create something on her own.

Luckily, inspiration and materials were abundant. Arora subsequently set up her e-commerce business of making and selling imitation jewellery - "Unicorns and Rainbows Accessories’’

Unicorns and Rainbows Accessories quickly gained traction and has grown exponentially in a brief span.

We know that Arora plans on expanding her operations but we wanted to get to know her more.

We sat down with her to have a little chat and gained some insight in her world.

Q: Celebrities, influencers and a lot of other people have been featured on Unicorns and Rainbows’ page. How has the experience of working with so many people been?

Vrishika: Feels a bit surreal to be honest. I never expected Unicorns and Rainbows Accessories to reach such a wide audience so quickly, I’m honestly thrilled to work with them, they’ve all loved our jewelry and I look forward to more such collaborations

Q: It's no surprise that U&R expanded quickly, let me tell you that. But, that many people come with their own arsenal of opinions. Do you view that negatively?
Vrishika: Oh no, not at all! I've always valued constructive criticism and customer feedback only makes U&R stronger. By working on feedback and creating jewelry according to it, I'm able to create something that is well received.

Q: How did you happen to come by jewelry designing?

Vrishika:
I’ve always wanted to create something of my own. Here my inspiration has been a very dear friend of mine who herself owns a jewelry business.
I’ve had this drive to create something bold, something that empowered my appearance and that is exactly how I want my clients to feel when they wear my Jewelry.

Q: Spoken like an artist! But what about the business side of things? How does one go by setting up an e-store and then growing it?

Vrishika: Well, firstly, you do have to take a leap of faith. You can calculate every little thing but there is still risk involved and you have to be willing to take that. My time in business school and all that I learnt is helping me navigate through all this.

Q: Is it all daisies and sunshine?
Vrishika: It is a very fulfilling venture, but I won't really say that it's a smooth ride. A lot of people are still sceptical of online shopping and quite a few have been tricked by online stores in the past. It isn't an easy task earning their trust, especially for something like jewellery. But, you know, when the customers give us a chance and we earn their approval, it all feels worth it.

Q: Before you sign off, could you shed some light on the Mindfulness Project?
Vrishika: Gladly! The pandemic claimed so many lives, turned our world upside down. Even if you weren't affected by the disease itself, you still were suffering because of it. In such times, it is important to find something that keeps you centred and afloat. For me and many others, it's reading and writing. I love reading and that love slowly seeped into the pen too. I started writing blogs about mindfulness and how it was key to beating the virus mentally. Reading such helpful and positive things can be immensely beneficial as it shifts your perspective towards finding inner peace and I recommend everybody should do that.
