Kochi: The Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award, 2025 for Best Malayalam novel has been conferred upon the acclaimed writer N Prabhakaran. He received the prestigious honour for his novel ' Maayamanushyar ', published by Mathrubhumi Books.
The award comprises a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees and a plaque.
The award recognizes his, also a short story writer and poet, remarkable contribution to contemporary Malayalam literature, with the work highlighting his distinct narrative style.
The award ceremony will be held in New Delhi on March 31. The 2025 Sahitya Akademi Awards were selected from 24 Indian languages, encompassing eight poetry collections, four novels, six short story collections, two essay collections, one work of criticism, one biography, and two memoirs.
The jury for the Malayalam category consisted of Dr A M Unnikrishnan, Dr K Jayakumar and Dr Padmanabhan Kavumbayi.
