A cheetah named KP-3, originally from Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, has now entered the Shergarh Wildlife Sanctuary in Rajasthan's Baran district, prompting heightened vigilance among forest officials.
The animal was first spotted in Baran in March and has since been moving across multiple forest ranges, including Kishanganj, Atru, Chhipabarod and Nahargarh.
Officials say KP-3 remains active and has made 7-8 kills over the past month, indicating it is hunting regularly and adapting to the terrain.
According to Baran Divisional Forest Officer Vivekananda Manikrao, teams from both Kuno and Shergarh have been closely tracking the cheetah's movements over the past few days.
Continuous monitoring is underway to ensure public safety and manage the animal's movement.
This is not an isolated case. In December, another cheetah, KP-2, had similarly crossed over from Kuno into Rajasthan's Baran district.
