Kuwait City: Two drones targeted the perimeter of Ahmad Al-Jaber Air Base on Saturday, causing minor injuries to three Kuwaiti service members and resulting in limited structural damage, according to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence.
Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, a spokesperson for the ministry, reported that air defence systems have identified and tracked seven hostile aerial threats within the last 24 hours. Military forces successfully intercepted and destroyed three of the incoming drones, while two others were neutralised as they landed in areas surrounding the facility.
The three injured personnel sustained minor wounds and are reported to be in stable condition while receiving medical care.
The air base, which houses U.S. military staff and is situated near the major American installation at Camp Arifjan, has faced increasing pressure as the regional conflict continues. The ministry emphasised that while some projectiles caused minor damage in the vicinity of the base, others were monitored and deemed to be outside the immediate danger zone.
The incident marks the latest in a series of drone and missile attacks targeting Gulf nations hosting foreign military assets since hostilities in the region escalated late last month.
