New Delhi: In a major allegation targeting the BJP, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera on Monday claimed that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein had links to the 2018 birthday celebrations of Sawai Padmanabh Singh, son of Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari.

Leading his charge on social media platform X, Khera wrote: "On Monday, May 14, 2018, a sender whose name has been redacted wrote to #Epstein: "I'm organising the bday party of the Maharaja of Jaipur in our family castle near Rome this summer. It's going to be amazing!!! :) "

The "Maharaja of Jaipur" referred to here is Sawai Padmanabh Singh, son of the BJP Deputy CM in Rajasthan, Diya Kumari. His lavish 20th birthday celebration in Rome in 2018 is already in public domain.

So when she rises to present the state budget tomorrow, perhaps Diya Kumari can also shed light on the budget for the birthday party Epstein's associate organised for her son.

What we are discovering is only a tip of the iceberg. Top to bottom, the BJP-Epstein links run deep."

Khera further alleged that at least 60 files with references to India in a tranche of documents from Epstein's estate, released on the US Department of Justice website, had disappeared following the signing of the recent India-US trade deal.

"The only development that took place in-between is the one-sided, pro-US trade deal. So the obvious question is unavoidable. Was an anti-India trade deal the price paid to make scandalous material disappear? Did the government trade away India's interests just to rescue its rapidly collapsing reputation?" Khera asked on social media.

Jeffrey Epstein, a financier and convicted child molester, died in a Manhattan prison in 2019 before he could stand trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors. The US Department of Justice has since released over three million pages of documents related to Epstein's estate, including photographs and emails involving prominent political leaders and business figures from across the world.

There was no immediate response from the BJP or Diya Kumari to Khera's allegations.</
