The posts, featuring close-ups of his eyes, hands and face, reveal a softer and more unfiltered presentation. A brief video shows him with minimal styling, a stark contrast to the polished aesthetic typical of idol promotions. According to his label, BELIFT LAB, the aim is to introduce Evan 'in his most authentic form' before any external expectations define him.

A new identity rooted in the past

Alongside the photographs, Evan shared the personal meaning behind his new stage name. The moniker is not a recent creation but one he has held close since childhood. He described it as a name tied to cherished memories and emotional comfort, making its adoption at this moment feel intentional and honest.

In a statement released with the rebranding, BELIFT LAB said the images capture "the purest form of EVAN, an artist at the very beginning of his identity, before any external definition is applied." The singer added that the name reflects "a name I've cherished since childhood, one that holds many of my most precious memories. Through this name, I hope to reach fans with music that fully expresses my most honest and natural self."

From ENHYPEN star to independent artist

Fans were not entirely surprised by the transition. After debuting in 2020 through the survival programme I-Land, Heeseung earned recognition as one of ENHYPEN's most versatile performers. His vocal range and steady stage presence stood out across the group's releases, which were produced under the former joint venture between CJ ENM and HYBE.

Beyond his performances, he contributed to songwriting and production, including tracks such as 'Highway 1009' and 'Dial Tragedy', both noted for their layered sound and emotional texture. His exit from the group last month followed what BELIFT LAB described as "in-depth discussions" about the direction of the team and his individual aspirations. The agency said it had become clear that "Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision."

Upon leaving, the singer addressed fans, known as ENGENE, with a heartfelt message reflecting on his years with the group. "The past six years have been filled with moments that are difficult to put into words, moments that were overwhelmingly meaningful, and incredibly precious to me… I will never forget them, and I want to continue supporting ENHYPEN as someone who will always cheer them on," he wrote.

ENHYPEN will move forward with six members: Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki. Formed in 2020, the group's name symbolises connection, the hyphen that links words, signifying members from different backgrounds coming together to grow alongside their fans.
