New Delhi: Google has expanded its Search Live AI feature globally, enabling real-time, interactive conversations with Search across more than 200 countries and territories, while adding support for multiple Indian languages.
The rollout is powered by Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, Google's advanced audio and voice AI model, designed to deliver more natural, intuitive, and multilingual interactions. The feature allows users to speak with Search in their preferred language, enhancing accessibility and user experience.
Initially launched in India in English and Hindi, Search Live is now available in additional regional languages, including Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, significantly expanding its reach among Indian users.
What is Google Search Live?
Search Live is part of Google's AI-powered search experience, designed for situations where typing may be inconvenient. Users can access the feature through the Google app on Android and iOS by tapping the "Live" icon under the search bar.
With this feature, users can:
- Ask questions using voice input and receive audio responses
- Continue conversations with follow-up queries in real time
- Access relevant web links for deeper information

AI + camera integration with Google Lens
Google has also integrated Search Live with Google Lens, enabling users to interact with real-world objects using their smartphone camera. By activating the "Live" option, users can have real-time, back-and-forth conversations about what they see.
For instance, users can point their camera at an object-such as a furniture setup-and ask for guidance, with the AI offering step-by-step suggestions and relevant resources.
Boost for AI adoption in India
The expansion aligns with India's growing focus on artificial intelligence adoption and digital innovation. Recently, the government launched a national AI skilling initiative in collaboration with Google and YouTube through the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT).
