All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Ansari Nagar, New Delhi - 110029; has invited applications for the Institutes of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) for admission to PG Medical/Dental Courses in specified Institutes of National Importance for the July 2026 session.
Admission to PG courses [MD/MS/M.Ch.(6years)/ DM(6years)/MDS & MD (Hospital Administration)] of AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS (Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Bibinagar, Bathinda, Deoghar, Mangalagiri, Raebareli, Kalyani, Bilaspur, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Rajkot, Jammu), JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, PGIMER Chandigarh & SCTIMST Trivandrum for the July 2026 session will be based on this examination.
Eligibility: Applicant must possess a recognised MBBS degree for admission to MD/ MS/ DM-6yrs/ MCh-6yrs/ MD (Hospital Administration), and BDS degree for admission to MDS courses, securing 50% marks in aggregate in case of SC/ST Categories and 55% marks in aggregate for all other categories. Part A consists of information regarding the criteria of eligibility for appearing in the examination, States of examination, application fee, process of application, scheme of examination and method of seat allocation.
The eligibility criteria mentioned are limited to the application and examination component of INI-CET. Eligibility criteria for admission to Postgraduate courses in different INIs may vary. Details will be available in the Part B Prospectus of each INI on the website. Information related to postgraduate courses at respective INIs, such as Institute-specific eligibility criteria, salary/stipend, rules of leaves, hostels, admission fee, penalty after resignation, etc., is available in Part B of the Prospectus of INI-CET, July 2026.
INI-CET July 2026 will be conducted on 16th May, 2026 (Saturday) in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. It will be of 3 hours' duration and will have 200 Objective-type questions (including Single Correct Choice and Multiple Correct Choice questions). One mark will be awarded for a correct answer. One-third mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.
The question paper will be divided into 4 parts on a random basis, where each part will be divided into 50 questions with a 45-minute duration. There will be a sequence in which each part will be enabled to view/answer questions. Access to the visible active part to view/answer will be disabled once the allotted time of 45 minutes expires, and the next part will be automatically activated/made visible and so on. Each part will be submitted automatically after a respective 45 minutes. After a lapse of 180 minutes, the examination will be submitted automatically. Each part will appear one by one for a 45-minute duration at a time. Candidates will be allowed only to attempt questions in the currently active part, which will remain enabled for its 45-minute duration. Candidates will not be allowed to view or answer any questions in any part other than the currently active /visible part. Hence, candidates may attempt all possible questions of the respective part during the given time period, including review of any skipped question or question marked for review, etc.
The percentile scores in INI-CET will be used to determine eligibility for admission to Postgraduate seats in all participating INIs. The minimum percentile cut-off required will be the 50th percentile. It will be the 45th percentile for OBC, SC, ST, and PwBD.
Online Registration for the application can be done at https://www.aiimsexams.ac.in/ (Academic Courses link) till 5 pm on 25.04.2026.
Application Fee is Rs. 4000/- (Rs. 3200/- for SC/ST/EWS applicants). It can be paid online through Debit Card/ Credit Card/Net banking. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are exempted from payment of Examination fees.
The status of Registration can be seen on 30.04.2026. Rejected Images/incorrect registration details can be corrected till 5 pm on 2.05.2026.
The final status of online Registration can be seen on 9.05.2026 (Saturday). The admit card will be uploaded on the AIIMS website on 9.05.2026. (Saturday).
The INI-CET result is expected to be declared on 23.05.2026 (Saturday).
The seat allocation shall be done through online mode only. The seat allocation shall be conducted for at least 2 rounds, followed by an open round. The detailed time schedules will be announced in due course.
