Ahead of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has announced a special travel perk for fans attending matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Ticket holders will be eligible for free rides on the Bengaluru Metro on match days.
According to the franchise, fans will receive a Metro Pass along with their match ticket. This will include a QR code that can be scanned at metro stations for entry and exit.
The benefit is valid for one round trip, one onward and one return journey-only on the day of the match, and the QR code cannot be transferred to others.
The closest metro stations to the stadium are Cubbon Park and MG Road, making it convenient for spectators to access the venue. The initiative is also aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the city's central areas during match days.
Sources indicate that Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will receive advance payments from RCB, with the franchise expected to pay around Rs 100 per ticket to cover travel costs, depending on ticket sales.
This move mirrors a similar partnership already in place between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Chennai Metro since 2023.
IPL 2026, the 19th edition of the tournament, kicks off on March 28 with defending champions RCB taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground in Bengaluru. The team will play five matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and two in Raipur during the season.
RCB has also clarified that tickets will be available only through its official website and app, with Phase 1 sales set to begin soon. Entry for spectators will be restricted to Cubbon Road and Link Road.
Additionally, fans can pre-book limited parking slots at designated locations such as Garuda Mall, St Joseph's Indian High School, St Joseph's Boys High School, and Freedom Park while purchasing tickets. Shuttle services to Cubbon Road will be available from these parking points.
To further ease travel, Bengaluru Metro services will run extended hours, with last trains from terminal stations scheduled until 1 am on match days. The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will also operate additional buses and extend timings to accommodate cricket fans.
