The trailer of 'Jana Nayagan', the last film featuring Thalapathy Vijay before he steps away from cinema for full-time politics, has now been released.
The makers had announced the multilingual rollout earlier, writing, "#JanaNayaganTrailer #JanNetaTrailer #JanaNayakuduTrailer. Tamil, Telugu & Hindi trailers are releasing on Jan 3rd at 6.45 PM (sic)."
Directed by H Vinoth, the film is pitched as a mass-appeal action drama rooted in politics. It features a large ensemble that includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain.
During the audio launch event in Malaysia, Vijay publicly acknowledged that 'Jana Nayagan' marks his farewell to acting. "When I entered the cinema, I thought I was building a small sand house here. But you all have built me a palace. Fans helped me build a fort... That's why I've decided to stand for them. For the fans who gave up everything for me, I'm giving up cinema itself," he said.
'Jana Nayagan' is slated for release on 9 January, coinciding with the Pongal/Sankranthi holiday frame. The film is expected to face stiff box-office competition from 'The Raja Saab' starring Prabhas and Sivakarthikeyan's 'Parasakthi', both arriving on 10 January.
