Speculation about the fate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has resurfaced online after a viral video from Florida appeared to show a man who resembles him driving a convertible on a highway.
The short clip, recorded from a moving vehicle, shows a driver wearing a white cap and dark sunglasses in a nearby car. The individual's facial resemblance to Epstein quickly caught the attention of viewers, prompting widespread discussion across social media platforms.
The video has since been shared thousands of times, with users questioning whether Epstein could still be alive despite his officially confirmed death in 2019.
Viral clip triggers online speculation
The footage circulating online shows a convertible travelling alongside another vehicle on a highway. The person behind the wheel bears a physical resemblance to Epstein, leading many viewers to speculate about his identity.
After the clip began spreading on social media platform X, several users posted comments questioning whether the individual could be the late financier.
One user wrote, "The internet is freaking out after this video was recorded in South Florida! WHO DOES THAT LOOK LIKE TO YOU???"
The resemblance prompted some users to revisit conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein's death, while others expressed scepticism about the claims.
Another social media user commented that the man in the clip appeared to look exactly like Epstein, while another simply asked, "Is this Epstein in FL?"
However, others dismissed the suggestion, noting that it would be unlikely for Epstein to move around publicly without security if he were still alive.
Authorities confirm Epstein died in 2019
Despite the renewed speculation online, officials have consistently maintained that Epstein died in custody in 2019.
Epstein was found dead in a jail cell in New York in August that year. His death was ruled a suicide by hanging following an autopsy conducted by the city's medical examiner.

A fact-check by the AI tool Grok also addressed the speculation surrounding the clip.

Previous false sightings circulated online
This is not the first time social media users have claimed to have spotted Epstein after his death.
Earlier viral content included a photograph that allegedly showed him in Israel. That image was later found to have been generated using artificial intelligence.
Such incidents highlight how quickly misleading claims can spread online, particularly when visual similarities trigger speculation.
Epstein documents also draw attention
While the viral video continued to circulate, attention also turned to documents connected to Epstein that were previously released by the United States Department of Justice.
The records included email exchanges involving Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York. One message referenced her daughter Princess Eugenie, mentioning that she was waiting for Eugenie to return from a weekend trip at the time.
Epstein's connections with Prince Andrew have also remained under scrutiny for years. The British royal stepped back from official duties after his association with Epstein came under investigation.
