JPMorgan harassment case: Who is Lorna Hajdini and what are the allegations against her?

A senior executive at JPMorgan Chase has been accused in a New York lawsuit of sexual harassment, coercion and abuse of a junior employee, with the complaint detailing explicit alleged remarks and threats.

The case, first reported by Daily Mail, names Lorna Hajdini, 37, as the defendant. The bank has rejected the claims, saying an internal investigation found "no merit" in the allegations.

Who is Lorna Hajdini?

Hajdini is an Executive Director in JPMorgan's Leveraged Finance division, with nearly 15 years at the bank. A graduate of New York University's Stern School of Business, she specialises in sectors including consumer, healthcare, logistics and aerospace.

She previously served as a vice president and has also completed executive education at Harvard Business School. Before JPMorgan, she interned in healthcare and investment firms including Glazer Capital Management and Tudor Investment Corporation.

JPMorgan denies sexual misconduct claims against executive Lorna Hajdini after internal probe

What does the lawsuit allege?

The lawsuit, filed in New York County Supreme Court by a man identified as "John Doe," claims the alleged misconduct began in early 2024 after the two started working together, reported the Daily Mail.

According to the complaint, Hajdini allegedly made repeated unwanted advances that escalated into coercion, threats and sexual misconduct. The plaintiff claims she used explicit language and intimidation, including telling him: "If you don't f**k me soon, I'm going to ruin you… I f***ing own you."

In another alleged incident, she is quoted as making a racialised remark: "Birthday BJ for the brown boy? My little brown boy." The complaint also alleges she linked his career prospects to compliance, telling him: "Do you think you're going to be in good standing if you do not have me in your corner?"

At a work-related event, she allegedly said: "You're gonna need to earn it, my little Arab boy toy," while engaging in unwanted physical contact, according to the filing.

The complaint further alleges that the situation escalated into sexual assault, with Doe claiming he was pressured into acts despite repeated refusals. During one encounter, he alleges she said: "Stop f**ing crying… you think anyone would ever believe you?"

He also claims she threatened to sabotage his promotion, saying: "If you don't f** my brains out tonight, I'm going to sabotage your promotion."

Additional allegations include claims of drugging, unauthorised access to his bank account, and repeated racial abuse. The complaint states that witnesses corroborate parts of his account.

The lawsuit also accuses JPMorgan of failing to act on the complaints and retaliating against the employee, including placing him on leave.

In response, the bank said it conducted an internal investigation and found no supporting evidence. A spokesperson said the complainant declined to provide key information during the probe.
