Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Department of Space, Govt. of India; Navrangpura, Ahmedabad-380009; has invited applications from highly motivated and dynamic candidates for Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) 2026 at PRL to pursue research in Science domains.

Eligibility: Applicant must be an Indian citizen and should have studied at recognized Universities/Institutes in India. Applicants must have Bachelor's and Master's degrees [Bachelor's (B.Sc. / B.Tech.)/Master's (M.Sc. / MTech. / M.Sc. (integrated) / MS)] in Science or Engineering, with at least a first-class (60%) or equivalent grade at both levels. Those from any branch of Physics, Engineering Physics, Photonics, Space Physics, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Meteorology, Geology, Geophysics, Earth Science, Oceanography, and Remote Sensing are eligible to apply.
They must have qualified in any national exams conducted in specified sessions, such as CSIR-UGC-NET JRF/AP [December 2024 or later] in Physical Sciences / Chemical Sciences / Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences, GATE 2024 or later in Physics / Geology and Geophysics / Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences / Chemistry/Engineering Sciences, JEST 2025/2026 in Physics, UGC-NET JRF/AP [December 2024 or later] in Environmental Sciences (applicable for candidates applying in Geosciences, Space & Atmospheric Sciences, Planetary Sciences & space exploration. UG and PG-level Physics is mandatory for candidates applying to Space & Atmospheric Sciences, Planetary Sciences & space exploration, with a valid score/All India Rank.
The upper age limit is 28 years as of 01 July 2026.
