The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Government of Karnataka, has invited applications for the Common Entrance Test (CET) -2026 for admission to various undergraduate professional courses in Karnataka for the academic year 2026-27.
CET-2026 will determine eligibility and merit for admission to the first year/first semester of full-time professional courses under the Government quota in Government, University, Private Aided, and Private Unaided institutions across Karnataka. Admissions will be made as per the seat matrix notified by the Government.
Eligibility and Registration
To be eligible for admission through KEA, candidates must:
- Register for CET-2026
- Fill out the online application
- Pay the prescribed application fee
- Download the admission ticket
Only Indian citizens are eligible for Government seats, subject to conditions specified in the Prospectus. Eligibility for OCI/PIO candidates will be as per the Hon'ble Supreme Court order in WP No. 891/2021.
Non-Karnataka candidates are not eligible for admission to Engineering courses through KEA and are also not eligible for reservation.
For B.Sc. (Nursing), both Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates must appear for CET-2026.
Other entrance exams required
For certain courses, candidates must appear for national-level entrance examinations:
- Medical, Dental, and AYUSH: UGNEET-2026
- Architecture: NATA
However, all such candidates must still register for CET-2026 and pay the application fee to participate in KEA counselling.
Non-Karnataka candidates may register for CET-2026 and opt for Medical, Dental, AYUSH, and B.Sc. (Nursing) courses.
Examination subjects
Candidates must appear in the relevant subjects (Physics-P, Chemistry-C, Mathematics-M, Biology-B) based on the chosen course:
- Engineering/Technology - PCM
- Farm Science (B.Sc. Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture etc)- PCMB
- Veterinary Science, BNYS, B.Sc. (Nursing) - PCB
- B.Pharm, 2nd Year B.Pharm, Pharm-D - PCM or PCB
For D.Pharm, B.P.T., B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences, and BPO courses, selection is based on PU marks. No entrance exam is required. However, candidates must register for CET-2026 to participate in counselling.

Each paper will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions for 60 marks.

Seats in Government and Government Aided institutions (excluding 15% All India Quota) and all seats in Private Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy colleges will be allotted through KEA.
Non-Karnataka candidates are eligible only for notified seats.
