Paravur has become a focal point largely due to the presence of V.D. Satheesan, Leader of the Opposition and the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate. A five-time MLA from the constituency since 2001, Satheesan is seeking another term and aiming to consolidate his influence in central Kerala.

Past results and survey signals shape expectations
In the 2021 Assembly elections, Satheesan retained Paravur with an increased margin of 21,301 votes, even as the LDF secured a statewide victory. The result reinforced his hold over the constituency.
Ahead of the 2026 polls, a Mathrubhumi pre-poll survey indicated a lead for the UDF in Paravur. The survey placed Satheesan at 49.78 per cent vote share, followed by Taison at 38.72 per cent and Prasannakumar at 11.50 per cent, suggesting a competitive race.
