Kozhikode: Toll fees at the Olavanna toll plaza in Kozhikode have been revised for vehicles travelling through the Vengalam-Valanchery section of the national highway.
The revised toll rates came into effect on Wednesday, according to officials managing the toll operations.
A major relief announced for local residents is the introduction of a special monthly pass for non-commercial vehicles. Residents living within a 20-kilometre radius of the toll plaza can now avail a monthly pass at Rs 350.
The revised toll structure covers several categories of vehicles, including:
- Cars, jeeps and vans
- Light commercial vehicles (LCVs)
- Buses and trucks
- Heavy construction machinery and oversized vehicles
The updated rate system includes separate charges for:
- Single journeys
- Return journeys completed within a day
- Monthly passes valid for up to 50 trips
Officials said the changes are part of the updated toll collection system for the national highway corridor.
The Olavanna toll plaza is an important collection point on the Vengalam-Valanchery highway stretch and is frequently used by daily commuters, commercial transport vehicles and interstate travellers.
