K J George: Leading the energy portfolio
A veteran Congress leader and a six-time MLA representing the Sarvagnanagar constituency in Bengaluru, K J George traces his roots to Chingavanam in Kottayam, Kerala. Bringing decades of legislative experience to the table, George has been appointed as a Cabinet Minister, extending his long and distinguished career in ministerial roles.
U T Khader: From Speaker to Cabinet Minister
U T Khader, the MLA representing Mangaluru, has also assumed a ministerial role in the new administration. Born in Uppala, Kasaragod, Kerala, Khader resigned from his prestigious position as the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly to accept his Cabinet induction under the Shivakumar Government. He is well-versed in governance, having previously handled critical portfolios such as Health and Urban Development.
The inclusion of these two seasoned leaders is expected to ensure that the influential Malayali population settled in Karnataka retains high-level representation at the decision-making table.
